C.T. has requested an interpretation of the above cards that were drawn according to the protocol of silently completing the sentence, “Please give me some insight into __________.” C.T. has not told me what (s)he has put into the blank space. The first three cards are the “heart” of the reading and are read as a unit. Then, the fourth card is drawn and read as a summary or clarifier. There are two members of the Major Arcana and two sixes in this mini-reading, so we know that this request for insight focuses on C.T.’s service and healing in the context of C. T.’s soul’s agenda for this lifetime. There are no other two-of-a-kind-or-more in suits or numbers.
The spotlight has been on the six of wands, the lesson of the good leader. Although you are the one, C.T., wearing the crown of laurels and carrying the wand that holds the symbol of victory, this has clearly been a group effort, and it behooves you to acknowledge this by getting off the horse every once in a while and letting other members of the group have a turn at riding. In other words, don’t let your ego take over, and put some effort into strengthening the group identity.
The spotlight is now on the Devil, giving away your power and blaming someone or something else for your not doing, being, and having everything you desire. Here are all the excuses and reasons “why not,” but you will notice that the chains around the prisoners’ necks are loose enough that they can just be lifted off. This card shows up to remind you that you create your own reality, and there is no need to play victim.
The spotlight is moving toward the Tower, the sudden crumbling of all you have built up. It can be as simple as an AHA moment that changes your thinking all the way up to and including the loss of a close relationship and/or a job. The exciting part is realizing that you are no longer being held back from rebuilding in a new direction, realigning with a higher, truer purpose.
The summary card is the two of swords, being immobilized by the fear that something hurtful that happened a long time ago might show up again. You are guarding your heart, but you are blindfolded and have turned your back on the waters that represent your feelings, emotions, relationships, and psychic abilities. This degree of protection is excessive. Please put down at least one of the swords, remove the blindfold, and see the situation as it really is, not what you’re afraid it might be.
Does this make sense? I hope it was helpful.
