R.S. has requested an interpretation of the above cards that were drawn according to the protocol of silently completing the sentence, “Please give me some insight into __________.” R.S. has not told me what (s)he has put into the blank space. The first three cards are the “heart” of the reading and are read as a unit. Then, the fourth card is drawn and read as a summary or clarifier. If we include the summary card, there are three fives and two members of the Major Arcana in this mini-reading, so we know that this request for insight focuses heavily on R.S.’s free will in establishing and/or choosing her/his soul’s agenda for this lifetime. There are no other two-of-a-kind or more in suits or numbers.
The spotlight has been on the five of cups, mourning who or what has been lost or you feel is now missing. This can be anything from a feeling of what you don’t have or feel you aren’t “enough” of to the loss of a friend, colleague, relative, home, job, finances, or a sense of satisfaction and/or well-being. Be gentle with yourself; feel the sadness, find out if you are holding any beliefs that are keeping it active, and then, let it go. Recognize that you are energizing “lack” by keeping your attention on it. Turn and feel gratitude for the two cups that are still standing and full.
The spotlight is now on the five of pentacles, going within instead of going without. Resource is always at hand. All the fives in the tarot deck speak of choosing, and this one shows up to remind you that you need not continue to suffer and be miserable. Remember that whatever you put your attention on tends to attract more of the same, so it behooves you to raise your vibration and look up, so you can see what is right within your reach that can help.
The spotlight is moving toward the Hierophant, sometimes called the High Priest. This card represents the gift of Intuition. You have access to higher knowing. You are in a position of responsibility, and others come to you for help and advice. The “five” vibration of this card represents the freedom to make choices. Be careful to share only the words that will be of benefit to the listener. Do not share all you know; nobody needs to hear all that. If you “guard your words,” what you say will be a blessing both to you and to the listener.
The summary card is the Sun, a whole brand new beginning. It is, once more, the perfect card to start the new year. You enter this next phase of your life’s journey, open and vulnerable, having been “around the block” a few times and retaining the wisdom and discernment gained from the earlier cycles. The sun shines on you, and you know your own value and worth. Welcome to your future, R.S. Taken as a whole, this reading emphasizes the free will we have used to select our soul’s agenda before we enter a particular incarnation. This reading is rreminding you, R.S., that you set it all up. It looks like it’s time to amend the contract. Good luck, R.S.
Does this make sense? I hope it was helpful.
