3-Card Reading for P.B.
P.B. has requested an interpretation of the above cards that were drawn according to the protocol of silently completing the sentence, “Please give me some insight into __________.” P.B. has not told me what (s)he has put into the blank space. The first three cards are the “heart” of the reading and are read as a unit. Then, the fourth card is drawn and read as a summary or clarifier. If we include the summary card, there are three fives in this mini-reading, one of which is a member of the Major Arcana, so we know that this request for insight focuses on the freedom to choose and there is some connection to P.B.’s agenda for this lifetime, not just her/his everyday life. There are no other two-of-a-kind-or-more in suits or numbers.
The spotlight has been on the Ace of Pentacles, a triumph of integrity. You walk your talk, P.B., and adhere to the highest values and integrity. You are an inspiration to others and hold to a standard that requires others to raise their own vibration in order to be consistent with yours. This is the only ace in the tarot deck that does not automatically shower blessings into others’ lives. It represents the highest possible values and priorities, and those who align with it will always triumph.
The spotlight is now on the Hierophant, sometimes called the High Priest. You have access to the secrets and information contained in the higher realms and act as a source of guidance to those who come to you for help. With great power comes great responsibility, so you must choose your words carefully to be of service and give helpful advice, not just blurt out whatever you tune into. It is this ability to be a helpful advisor that allows your words to be a blessing to those who hear them.
The spotlight is moving toward the five of wands, choosing to keep on playing or to leave. You’re the one in the hat, P.B. Right about now, you are wondering if you’re getting picked on because you’re different or if the group can expand its consciousness to include you. Was this even a good idea to play with these guys? Can I/ do I fit in? Do I add something to this group? All the fives in the tarot deck speak of choosing, and this one shows up when you are super aware that you’re different, and you wonder if anyone wants to be your friend. The advice of the card is to hang in there for a bit longer because you are earning the respect of the others by being able to take it as well as dish it out. Your difference adds value to the group.
The summary card is the five of cups, acknowledging someone or something is missing. Again, the five nature of the card asks you to choose to limit your sadness by recognizing that resource is always at hand, and you still have two cups that are full. It’s time to move forward and either replace and/or refill the other cups. Do not allow your sense of loss to devolve into self-pity and keep you stuck. Taken as a whole, this reading seems to be reinforcing your integrity and your gifts and telling you not to give up.
Does this make sense? I hope it was helpful.
