3-Card Reading for Y.C.
Y.C. has requested an interpretation of the above cards that were drawn according to the protocol of silently completing the sentence, “Please give me some insight into __________.” Y.C. has not told me what (s)he has put into the blank space. The first three cards are the “heart” of the reading and are read as a unit. Then, the fourth card is drawn and read as a summary or clarifier. If we include the summary card, there are two knights in this mini-reading, so we know that this request for insight focuses on Y.C.’s being well on her/his way to mastery in her/his chosen field, and the examination of her/his self-concept is a part of that mission. There is one member of the Major Arcana as the summary card, so there is some connection to Y.C.’s soul’s agenda for this lifetime. There are no other two-of-a-kind or more in suits or numbers.
The spotlight has been on the Ace of Pentacles, a triumph of integrity. You are truly aligned with your values and priorities, Y.C., and serve as an inspiration to others as you walk your talk and consistently align yourself with the best and highest good. This is the only ace in the tarot deck that does not shower automatic blessings on those who come into its energy; it is for them to choose to raise their vibration and act accordingly. This card appears when there can only be the highest ideas and ideals involved in what’s going on.
The spotlight is now on the Knight of Swords, the need for focus. It is here that the manifestation process breaks down. The first card has affirmed the alignment, but the second step of focus has not been met. By riding around at top speed in all directions, this knight is squandering his effectiveness. He is clearly in a reactive mode. There is a need to shift from letting the situation have power over the individual to the individual’s taking charge, strategizing, and directing his energies at a precise target.
The spotlight is moving toward the Knight of Cups, another affirmation that you, Y.C., are on the right path, but you are still in a reactive position. This card is an over-reaction to the second card. You are afraid of making a mistake, being called a failure, and have become over-cautious, not wanting to spill any of the cup’s contents that you are carrying. Do you realize that the people who have gone the farthest in their lives have been the ones who have made the most mistakes and have learned from them? There has to be a happy medium here. You have to believe that resource is always at hand, and it’s time to let go of the need to please others and/or the tendency to beat up on yourself.
The summary card is the Hermit, the archetype of wisdom and higher understanding. It looks like you will be successful in shifting the motivation to an internal, balanced, and calm perspective, for you have reached the top of the mountain. You have carried the light along the way so that others may follow if that’s what they choose to do. You have become an energy master. Good work, Y.C.
Does this make sense? I hope it was helpful.
